In "Hound Dog", shown at the Sun Dance festival, Dakota Fanning played Fehellen, a girl sexually abused. AND they had a RAPE seen when she was naked. They actually SHOWED her being raped in an alley!! That's bad enough that they even had a rape, but she is TWELVE YEARS OLD. That's just sick. Hiring a twelve year old pretend to have se* so you can make a million bucks. SICK!
I quote, "Would you pay $12 to see a child be raped while eating popcorn?"

Please stop giving me crap. Yes, I DO worry about it in real life. but think of the little girls who do it because of "Dreamer's" star, Fanning, did it. Well I have a problem with it yes so I just won't see it. You have no right to give me crap you have no idea what I'm talking about.

I read there was no interaction between the boy and her..it was all a product of editing and that only her foot, hand, face, neck and shoulder are visably.
Dakota said the only ones criticizing the movie are those who have not seen it..those who have like the movie and the movie is not about rape, that is a scene included.
I think it said whoever wrote it had this happen to them in real life and feels too many women have been silenced. She worked on the film 10 years and refused to take that scene out.
I think it is a relatively low budget movie so they aren't out to make a milion bucks. I think Dakota probably is a lot more mature than most girls her age. she also seems like she has a high IQ and doesn't seem tramatized in the least except in anger towards people who are ciriticisng her mom and other adults she cares about.
People who are unhappy with the movie can boycott it, that isd their right. People calling for boycotts and charges against parents can try, but they will not stop the movie from being shown, Some will want to see it and that, too, is their right, but I like her as an actress and will probably see it..yes, I am sure it will be hard to watch but the reality is children, many much younger than 12 do get raped. Perhaps this depiction will bring home the true horror of this crime and will spur a conversation about the trama, effect on one's life, tougher penalty, prevention, etc.

I don't know why she was in such a movie, but I think it is terrible. I already thought it was bad to have child actors anyway much less in anything as sick and terrible sounding as this movie. What exactly would it do to the psyche of a 12 year old to even be thinking about such things. That sounds like child abuse to me.

It's a movie. She's not being raped. Go devote your time to kids that are actually being raped instead of spreading nonsense about a movie. Dakota has more acting talent in her picky than all of us and knows what she is doing.

I agree with you. This is disturbing and I am even more disturbed at the sick sort of audience that this film will attract. I hear that Dakota had to wear a body suit that makes her look nude - so that just skims far to close to child porn in my book.

i think her parents are da sick ones to allow her to do it. And anyway, why doesnt dis fanning kid seem to grow up? You see kids like da 'harry porter' guy and the 'home alone; kid all grow up real quick but this girl just doesnt seem to grow up. did her parents give her some 'stunt growth' pills to make her stop growing so she can act in all the big money kid star roles?
