I don't think bootable floppy is the way to go, you should reinstall windows, formatting the hard drive to erase it, but before you do backup all your documents as they will ALL BE DESTROYED when you reinstall windows....

You can also usually wipe the hard drive and start over with the XP, or whatever CD you're going to install the new OS with. Just make sure you have the restore CD that came with the computer. You'll need all the drivers for your machine to reinstall from scratch.

I once had a floppy until I saw a booty. Is that what you mean by bootable floppy?

if you want to reinstall windows you should have gotten a rescue disk.

If you want to scrap windows you might want to try GNU/Linux. The distribution of this that i recommend for beginners is Ubuntu.
