With a program that writes useless data on the entire drive. Because if you delete it, all data is only hidden from the operating system and can be recovered with data recovery software. Best bet is to destroy the hard drive.

There is a program called "wipe drive" that overwrites your hard drive about 25 times. Be sure to save the files you want to keep because they will be gone forever.

on windows you will have to download some software.
on linux: you can boot a live cd and then do dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/path/to/hard/drive
