If your just going to use it for email, Internet, playing media, create documents and armature video with all the bells and whistles that an operating systems can provide then I have to say Yes, the interface is beautifully made and the transitions and animations are fun to watch and it comes with all the basic software that you'll need out of the box, on the other hand software tends to be a little more expensive for mac's, and is more difficult to find drivers for older equipment, and if your getting in to gaming No. But now with Windows Vista giving you a lot of the same Bells and Whistles is really up to you to decide which software vendor you want to support.

I didn't use to like them, but the new Intel Macs are much better than the old MACS. You can install Windows on them along with OS X, but you'll have to buy a copy of XP or Vista separately. None of your PC games will run on the OS X that comes with the Mac, so you would have to install Windows too.

Mac are not better as they are PC clones (without a bios chip) and using a freebsd based os (linux). For the gamer, hands down, windows. Most of the programs are for windows, few for linux, less for Mac OS. Just shop around for software, to show it.
