Hot or annoying, it's meant so that the players can put more power into the ball. For this same reason do throwers for Track and Field yell when throwing.

Sorry completely disagree and so does the British public if you judge by the price of the tickets. Personally I have enjoyed watching the Murray matches. but i suppose i might be just a tad partisan. The speed and power of the volleys is awesome.

very annoying.....grunting and yelling in professional male tennis matches on the other hand, is a real turn on for me. now thats hot and sexy!!! but thats just me....im female. mm-mmm rafael nadal, hot spanish guy......i love it when he grunts. ; )
