For me, it's a toss between Archer & Kirk??

If I'm in a fight I want Kirk on my side.
If I'm in a debate I'd want Picard sitting at my table.
If I'm playing baseball I want Sisko playing on my side.
If I'm lost in the Delta quadrant I'd follow Janeway.

I have to say, that I lean towards Picard. First of all, I think he had the best voice of the three, the most commanding presence, and (can't compare to much to Archer, but definitely Kirk), I think the deepest acting ability and work ethic. HIs character seemed to run a lot deeper than Kirk's.

If you mean actors, I'd vote for Picard, with Kirk a close second. Both were Shakesperian actors, and knew how to intensify the drama of a moment.
If you meant starfleet captains....Kirk, hands down. He was able to bend the rules when they needed bending, and wasn't above being sneaky.

Captain Kirk. He got into fights, had no problem with sending unknown ensigns on landing parties, and having them get killed, wasn't afraid to get with alien chicks, and, over-acted like no one before, or since.

Picard is the man!!! Kirk can't compare to him. Picard's number 1 priority is his crew, and if they ever left the ship they came back.
