i am using powerbook g4 800mhz and suddenly it is behaving strangely,
1, in the finder meny it is displaying all the commands twice.
for instance it is displaying Shutdown twice.
how do i resolve the problem.

Nothing but reinstalling OS X will cure that. You'll probably have to do a clean install since your OS X CD is likely older than the version that's on the computer, but they have a selection to copy all your software and settings that works pretty well.

Trash com.apple.finder.plist that's in Users/Your Home Folder/Library/Preferences folder. Log out and in, Empty Trash if it's 'fixed'.
Reboot in Safe Mode. Repair Disk from your Install Disk and reboot then Repair Permissions.
Use Onyx to run the Maintenance and Clear Cache from the Automation tab.
