I like to have alot of disk space, so is performing Disk Cleanup and Defragmenting alot (E.g. 10 times a day) not good?
If that harms my PC in any way, how can I reverse this process? I don't want my PC to break easily.
So how many times should I do this, and when? Thanks!

I don't exactly defragment 10 times a day, but that number gives you an idea of what I mean when I say "a lot".

if u use ur pc a lot and download lots of files etc once every week is ok...if ur a normal user u shuld defragment once every 2 weeks to a month.......10 or 1 time per day will hav the same result and if u defragment too much ur usin ur hard drive more, makin it spin around more and delete/move data more and unnecasserily which may make ur hard drive life shorter

If you run the Windows XP defrag program, it tells you if it is not needed. If you are doing this more than once per week, it may be time to get a larger drive. Your PC will not be harmed, but the hard drive runs at full speed during this process and may not last as long as it could. Consider installing a slave second drive to give you the disk space you want.

That's abit much. It probably doesn't hurt much, but chances are good you don't do enough things each day with your computer to need it that often. For most people once a month defrag and once a week disc cleanup. If you use the computer alot, then once a week defrag and two to three x's for disc.

Once a week is fine for defragging... as well as disk cleanup. It doesn't save you much space at all though. If you want to save space, delete programs and files that you don't use... that's what takes up space. All defragging does is rearrange files so that things open faster and stuff. Disk cleanup is hardly worth doing at all.

If you do a lot of work or you are on-line most of the day its OK to Defragment every two weeks really. 10 times a day is obsession.

If you have Windows XP, it will tell you if you need to defragment or not. It does not hurt your PC, but it does not create more disc space, either. If your hard drive is full or almost full, cleaning it and getting rid of unused files will give you a little.

Defragmenting doesn't increase your space...it just maximizes your drive performance....defragging once a week is fine....10 times a day is not neccessary. Also, if nothing was changed, deleted, or installed, defragging doesn't change the drive at all...

For most people, even once per week is too much, (and unnecessary).
Once every 2 weeks is probably the soonest I'd do it because the more you do it, the sooner you will wear out your hard drive. When you defrag, your hard drive is basically "cut and pasting" information off and back onto itself over & over & over again! Plus, it's not necessary to do it so much! You gain nothing!
