Depends on the goods. They're not generally interested in laptops -- a large proportion of people carry them and they're much the same the world over. Virtually none of them made in the US anyway.

They're not much interested in cameras nowadays --again everyone has them and they're not made in the US.

Same goes for watches.

On the other hand something that most people woulnd't be carrying would possibly attract attention and they'd go for it on the No UL approval marking or whatever.

I recently brought back a laptop. Took it out of the box, removed all traces that it was bought there (ie: wrapping, labels, US electrical cord) and placed it in my luggage. I went through "Nothing to Declare" and all was fine... walked straight through!
