why save up for a 2 gb when you can save an additional $50 and buy a 4gb for $199?? Do more chores around the house, mow the lawn, clean the garage... etc. Your parents will see the effort and hand you money.. but you have to tell them why you want the extra cash. rather than going to the movies with your friends, save the $10 and have a movie night at your house. the smallest things add up.

Small town or big town, there are always jobs to be found. If you are a good listener, and can stay focused on the task, ask around and ask your parents. Small jobs as simple as raking a neighbor's yard for a mere 10 bucks does add up, if you do 5 yards, there is 50 bucks. Other jobs include helping paint a fence or house... babysitting... newspaper delivery services in many areas do hire young teens for walking or bicycle routes... there are far too many possible jobs to list. Take the time to talk with your parents, show your interest, show your responsibility in taking the actions to do the things that you need to do in order to attain your goal. Good luck.

the BEST way to save money for anything is NOT 2 spend yer earnings. u can have yer folks open u a new savings acct & u can earn $$$ thru odd jobs & allowance (IF u get 1.) not all families can do this, b/c x-tra $$$ nowadays is so rare that many families just don't make enough $$$ 2 support allowance. in fact, most ppl now r saving ALL they can 4 their own futures, knowing that down the road, they themselves will someday NEED their savings. if my family struggled $$$, i just wouldn't put any such burden on them 2 give me $$$ they just don't have. i'd go seek odd jobs & do all i can 2 earn my own living if i needed $$$ that bad. u may want 2 save yer $$$ anyway, b/c u may someday want 2 attend college. if u face certainty that some $$$ must come out of yer own pocket, then u'll appreci8 the fact that u saved earlier. college is expensive, & so r the books, once u factor in the car, ins., & gas needed 2 go 2-from class (IF u mush go very far). if u can get fin. aid, then let the govt buy that laptop 4 u. if u can't get enough aid now, u can save yer refunds off that grant. refunds come during refund wk. i'd just wait 4 the laptop. technology changes & the longer u wait, the BETTER those laptops get.

Open an account with ING Direct. It;s an online savings account, and they have one of the highest interest rates out there. While this won't let you earn money, it will mean the money you have earns interest faster than it is in your savings account.
Just keep in mind it can take a few days for funds to get form ING to your bank and vise versa. Don't think of it as a savings account, think of it as a CD or bond that you don't have to pay penalties for early withdrawal.

The only advice i can give you is to look at some of your things, as in Goods and valuables that you no longer want or are willing to part with. then you can either sell them on ebay or sell them localy. Also do some odd jobs for some cash.... shovel snow! i know some kids who charge 10 bux to clean up peoples drive ways and walkways... also u can cut lawns, and think of jobs ur parents do around the house offer to help them and then hit them up for cash for the task...

Well... you could ask you parents ifthereisanything extrayou can do to earn a little extra money. Like yard work..... or washing cars... or walking the dog..... they might be willing to help. YOu could mowllawns for neighbors, get their approval first and agree upon a rate. You could babysit ( if you are old enough). There are several ways you can earn money.

do you have things in your room that you feel like you could sacrifice? sell them. have a small yard sale with all of your dispensible things and donate what is left over to a shelter. are you good at making anything? you could have a bake sale. use healthy ingredients to make a sweet treat or sandwiches or something and go to an office (or one of your parents workplaces) and sell them. you could always babysit, plantsit, or petsit while people are away. you could clean someones house that you know well or mow lawns for a few extra bucks. the possiblities are endless. just remember that people usually appriciate creativity and are willing to help out someone who puts out the effort. good luck.

There's always mowing lawns/shoveling driveways/etc. I remember when I was about 11 or 12, my sister and I went to different stores and offered to clean up their parking lots so we could buy our mom a present without having to ask HER for the money....we made a couple of bucks (not bad for early '70's).

ask your parents what you can do around the house for a few bucks....ask them if there's constant things you can do....to earn an allowance or if there's special things every now and then to get a lump amount......and saving is hard but iPods are definately worth it
