I agree with a previous answer that Charlton Heston was not a great actor. Fortunately for him there was a niche for his 'talent' in the grandiose genre of movies he made. He should have been ashamed of himself for his lame answers - or lack of - to Michael Moore's questions. Heston and Dick Clark were non-issues to me before Moore's movies, but that's the whole point of his movies isn't it - to make us think about the fat cats' agendas and how they can influence life for the masses in a negative manner. Heston used his status in a very dishonourable way. There are so many issues and people in need of attention. Weapons don't need celebrity publicists.

This wonderful actor is suffering from mild Alzheimer's disease which of course robs the victim of memory and even verbal discourse.

However, at 82 he was still able to do voice-overs and it is rich commanding voice that many of us remember.

How Charlton Heston had any home life (happily married with children) while he was making more than 125 movies is a mystery.

Heston was a fomer DEMOCRAT but switched sides andis now a right winger and a gun lover.

His wife,(Linda) a former beauty queen whom he married in 1944 and with whom he appeared with in Planet of the Apes and he still live a productive life in California.

Heston was from Evaston Ill and his wife from Berlin, Maryland.

He was a very acctractive man in his youth! Very sexy as well. He was built superbly - much better than Arny!! As for his acting, I think that he was chosen for roles because of his physic and that being the reason the movies were regarded a great. Not the best of actors of his time for sure, but good to look at. He became a much better actor as he got older but unfortunately the roles he was offered were not that great so we could never really see his potential in his later years. He is still alive yes.

He is a gun toting bigoted red neck, what more do you need to know. And just for you bumbleboi,Bowling for Columbine was not Hestons film, it was by Michael moore a great film showing how gun laws in the USA contribute to the deaths of American children. This law which Heston upholds.
