From all that I have read, SSI is in trouble. President GW Bush
proposed working to fix it last year! When SSI was first put into operation in the 1930s, there were 30 some workers paying for everyone drawing! By 1950 there were 16 workers paying for each one drawing, Today, there are 3.3 (31/3) workers paying for each drawing. Baby Boomers (big influx of population) are retiring
at a record rate. By 2017 (10 years away) there will me more $
going out than coming in!
You wonder, who lied to you about this? I have heard so much about lying to the people, it makes me sick! The Dems in Congress, told the American voters, nothing was wrong with SSI!
Dems decided nothing needed fixed! WHY? They knew the same numbers as presented above! I guess they wanted to be the ones who finally fixed it? Or swept it under the rug, again?
TEN years .... Fellow Americans, and the clock is still ticking!

There wouldn't be a problem with Social Security if the government had never started spending the money for other things in the first place. This started way before the current Bush got into office, so we can't blame the problem on him. They were talking about this for about 30 years.

Everyone is too busy criticizing our standing President actions pertaining to Iraq to care if the country falls apart around us. No one is paying any attention to what was said in the State of the Union Address, they are just stuck on the same complaints about Iraq.
Social Security is believed to be stronger than it was.

Bad news, If it has not already happened, El Presidente is giving benefits to all the illegals and legal Hispanics who can demonstrate 18Mo.s of employment! Never mind the fact that Americans have to work something like 20 years to qualify!

Once the Hispanics get benefits rolling, they retire back to their previous lives with what is for them good money rolling in!

to actually "save" the program.. it would mean that they would, at the very least, have to stop borrowing from it and pay back what they have borrowed...

our government is good at the spending debt part... not so good at the paying back part...

but it really boils down to... most people don't care... and if the voters don't care... the government won't either...

squeaky wheel gets the oil..

The Bush administration and all his lackeys are rich bastards. They are not personally affected by whether or not there is a Social Security fund, so it doesn't matter to them.
