You could use Winamp to convert the MP3 to WAV then use your WAV to MP3 converter to convert it back to MP3 at a higher bitrate. You can also try the free audio software Audacity, although it's a bit more complex than what you need it for.

Your MP3 player should be able to play a bitrate lower than 128. Look in the manual and see how low it will go. I'd hate to have you waste 4x the memory for an mp3 that only will have the sound quality of 32kbps.

i could bypass with a vbr putting, which will greater desirable distribute the bits interior the audio. joint stereo and vbr of v5 ought to get you the report length you prefer with the suitable high quality according to report length. lame does no longer help flac as enter (afaik), so the suitable factor i comprehend to do this's mediacoder. with mediacoder you could batch technique audio data into mp3 utilising lame. that's going to reproduction your tags from the flac too. P.S. basically approximately forgot to respond to your question :P there wont be a extensive distinction between joint stereo and stereo. it must be substantial. a extensive distinction between the 128 mp3 and flac? some say they cant pay attention the style and others say its the international distinction. for my section, i dont use something below mp3 192, yet regardless of works for you. possibly attempt a blind try between 128 192 and 320.
