I had my doctors appointment this morning, and he said I'm 3 cm dilated and 90 % effaced. He broke the membrane and my bloody show started gushing out. I haven't noticed any contractions yet, but how soon could I go into labor? I'm hoping the baby stays in atleast until 37 weeks but I'm afraid she won't.

he didn't break my water...he said he stripped some membrane or whatever, whatever causes your bloody show to leak out. And he didn't do it on purpose, it happened because he was checking my dilation.

36 WEEKS IS FINE IF YOU DO INTO LABOR..IT WOULD BE HOURS,DAYS OR EVEN WEEKS BEFORE YOU GO INTO LABOR!!

Oh my. I'm jealous. I'm 36 weeks as of today. I didn't get to ask how effaced I was but I'm surely not 90% a few weeks ago I was -2 station and 50% effaced. I'm not even dilating yet! You probbaly will go within the week. Could be any time now.

First off, you doctor, in my experience should never have "messed around" up there so early. I have never heard of it prior to 37 weeks at the earliest! Second, you may indeed have this baby because of it, but it may also just be irritation of the cervical tissue as it is very sensitive at this point in time. I would look for your mucus plug coming out, and regular contractions. But again, it doesnt mean that you are going to have the baby early, but it isnt a good sign that you bled like that either.

If the doctor stripped your membranes today you could go into labor anytime in the next week.

I was 2cm at 32 weeks and 4cm at 36 weeks with my son and didn't have him till three days before my due date. Everyone and every pregnancy is completely different. I'm 38 weeks and 4cm with my second baby and well, lost my plug and everything and still pregnant. SO it depends. You could go into labor in an hour or in four weeks. Good luck.

Did he break your membranes or strip them, there is a diffrence. If he broke your water/membranes you should have that baby within 24 hours or you risk infection and death to your child. 4 weeks early is not that bad, my nephew was that early. My twins were 9 weeks early. 4 weeks early is usually fairly safe with their lung development and stuff. If he broke your water this morning, and you don't have labor tonight please go to the ER/hospital and get checked, you need to get this baby out ASAP

If he broke your water you would have been admitted to the hospital you arent supposed to go more that 24-48 hours without delivery after your water is broke. He may have striped your membrane. You could go into labor tonight or tomorrow or next week.

Sounds like your getting really close!!! Odds are that if he stripped your membranes today, you'll hopefully start labor by tomorrow. If not, it won't be too long. Expect a lot of spotting and cramping tonight. Good luck!

purely for scientific motives. My physician won't bring about until eventually 38 weeks in case the due date is erroneous until eventually there's a reason the toddler must be out staggering away. i'm being triggered for scientific motives next week.

At this point even if she was born tomorrow she will be fine. My son was born at 29 weeks and he is now a completely healthy, VERY active 2 year-old.

I cant believe your Dr broke your water and sent you home!! You are supposed to deliver the baby within 24 hours to minimize the risk of infection!!!
