Yeah...

It's a strange circumstance - a minority using a derogatory term against another minority. He should know the pain that slurs cause.

Can you imagine what would happen if TR called Isiah the "N" word in the heat of an argument? Would he be fired straight away, or would he go through the same slow process of trying to rebuild his image?

I can see why the producers haven't sent him packing - as only one of two African American actors/characters on the show, they need to keep up appearances - but the man keeps digging his own hole.

He needs to fall on his sword, and quit.

I think the media and the cast members are blowing this situation way out of proportion. Isiah Washington mad a big and stupid mistake for calling T.R. Knight the f-word. But it is not the first time a celebrity made a derogatory comment in Hollywood, look at Mel Gibson, Micheal Richards"Kramer", or Mark Wahlberg. Besides, he has the right to say whatever he wants to say. People are just looking for controversy, they need to let it go. He shouldn't loose his job.

I disagree with gay's using the term minority. They chose to be gay. Blacks, Latino's and Asians don' have a chose. Now, to answer the real question if Isiah Washington was a white actor he'd probably be gay himself. Good for him for calling out demons.

Constitutionally: no longer purely is he entitled to his opinion yet he's allowed to voice. the united statesstructure doesn't forbid "If it offends someone", if truth be told that is meant to guard once you disagree. It helps you to voice a differing opinion. subsequently and many like it, He voiced his opinion, which become unpopular to three, for this reason politics and under no circumstances jurisprudence gained the day. although the structure does no longer take care of you from the responsibilty of your movements. If an organization disagrees with your open opinion, they don't look to be constitutionally sure to resume a freelance. (although if he become an "worker" he does criminal status to sue, yet no longer as a contractor) Me in my opinion, each little thing is growing too whitewashed. Make each little thing a similar (yet upload colour!), do not harm my thoughts (Or i am going to sue!), Be accepting of all of us (You settle for us, we do not want to settle for you, and how dare you've a opinion otherwise!). eat in good structure, ( eat that french fry and that i will purchase a lobbyist to legislate it remote from you), and so on and so on and so on human beings, it is existence right here! no longer something meshes mutually 100% hell, no longer even 50%. existence is all about the conflict and infrequently definite, petty variations. with out strife and striving, what are we? no longer something. we've change into complacent, impatient, conceited, illiberal and we assume of we are some type of royalty. we are no longer. we are like others in this international. And definite meaning getting dirty often times and taking the crap from others. Welcome lower back to the purely rat race that concerns. The Human Race

Nope. Isaiah Washington did what he felt was right. He shouldnt be fired at all. I may not fully agree with everything he says, but it's Freedom of Speech, they can't fire him only under those circumstances.

peoples need to understand that calling a black person the "n-word" is very different from calling a gay person the "f-word." yeah both words are hateful but there is much more weight in the "n-word" .... uh think about it, black people cant help there skin color, its not a lifestyle. different for homosexuals. i probably pissed a lot people off but its the truth. sorry

Naw, he'd still be stupid no matter what color he was. He needs to shut his mouth. It's hard for black actors to find work and he's throwing his chance away.
