I tried and tried to find the answer to this question after the birth of my second child....to no avail. I have heard it takes 6 weeks for your body to heal but I would assume that means from a vaginal birth, especially if you were torn. But I have heard that it takes time for your cervix to close again as well, and I think if you didn't go through labour, your cervix wasn't opened in the first place. From personal experience, I didn't wait. I think it was 3 weeks postpartum and I had intercourse, albeit very gently...hope this helps!

I would say definitely wait at least the 6 weeks. I know it sounds like forever, but it's better to wait.
I only waited 4 weeks after my c-section (i dilated to 8 centimeters) and it was PAINFUL!! Even though you didn't deliver vaginally, your body still prepares for it and still needs that healing time.

Please wait the 6 weeks - see your doc for check-up and ask for the go ahead, My first was an emergency c-section and I waited only 4 weeks and went into shock after and hurt! 2nd baby (now 6mths old) planned c-section - I waited the 6 weeks for doc to say ok. Need a pap test and internal exam.

I had sex again the day before I would have been 2w PP (so 1w6d) and I had a CS. I wasn't thinking and my hubby was just being so cute. lol I actually ripped one of my stitches a little, though..so I wouldn't recommend you do this!

Definitely wait the six weeks, longer if possible. Birth is very traumatic, and your body needs to heal, even if you feel ok.

You need to check with your doctor. Even though you did not have a vaginal birth there is still a risk of infection.
