My 10 month old daughter has eczema and for the last few months we have been feeding her Soya based milks (formula) / youghrts etc. This seems to improved here eczema but we are afraid she isn't getting enough calcium. She had first 2 teeth about 2-3 months back - but nothing since. Is this normal or is there a calcium defficiency as a result of the soya diet?

Yes Soy baby formula has calcium in it, its a complete food for children under the age of 1, just check the label it should have the calcium content in it.

Also calcium defficency doesnt stop your teeth from growing in, it just causes you to have poor teeth. Or rather it can cause that.

Some children don't get any teeth until age 1 or later! 2 teeth at age 10 months is nothing to worry about. In 2 months she will go in for her 1 year check up, why not ask the doctor about it when you are there.

I have read on several different sites that you should not under any circumstances feed a baby soya milk because they don't get all the nutrients that normal milk has in it. I'd put my child back on the other milk and find a different way to treat the eczema

Babies take months to get their teeth in. Some babies don't get their first tooth until they are a year-old. Soy milk has all the same nutrients that milk-based formula does.

Soy is the alternative to milk. There is definitely calcium in it.
