I hate George Bush's guts. However, I agree with you on this one. It was an awkward situation, where it wasn't apparent what course of action should have been taken. I can imagine that Bush was rightly confused whether he should immediately get up, or wait awhile. He didn't wait that long anyway. It's also debatable what the extra minutes would have accomplished, since the events were pretty much out of his control at that point. After giving him this much I feel compelled to end how I started. By saying, I HATE GEORGE BUSH'S GUTS !

I try to take an objective view of the situation and I'm by no means a bush supporter.
He could have politely said someting had come up and he had to leave, thank the kids and been out of there. The kids would not have been the wiser and No trauma.
Obviously the Sec. service didn't think he was in danger
That said, when the first plane hit, very few people knew what actually had happened. When the second plane hit, his people should have gotten him out of there to deal with the situation. There's nothing he could have done anyway-- all the military, FAA and other folks were dealing with the situation.
They very likely had little awareness of what was really transpiring at that very moment. Even the people witnessing and living it first hand didn't entirely know what was going on . the FAA lost the planes and at times didn't know which plane disappeared.
bottom line-- he and his people could have dealt with it better.

there became no longer lots Bush ought to do till he had the info and convey at the same time the info approximately in simple terms what became happening became the duty of those that serve decrease than him. the individuals who save criticizing Bush for no longer doing something seem to forget approximately approximately something suggested as delegating authority. Presidents do no longer make judgements approximately each thing that occurs of their administrations. they are able to't. There are in simple terms too many stuff happening interior the rustic for every person guy or woman to maintain music of. simply by fact of this the President has a cupboard and why his secretaries have staffs decrease than them. to handle circumstances as they upward thrust up so as that those that are bigger up the chain of command can cope with bigger matters. while the 1st plane struck, no person knew what became happening ; different than for sure all the Liberals ? it ought to truly particularly have been an twist of destiny. if so, then tragic however something like that could have been, it became no longer something that needed the President's instant interest. It became no longer till after the 2d plane hit sixteen minutes later that folk began to contemplate the possibility of an assault. Even then there became incredibly no longer lots the President could have achieved to ward off the the rest assaults. So, i do no longer fault him for his hesitation at that factor.

I think it takes more courage to retain your composure after an event like 9/11 and maintain a calm environment until he was able to leave the children to deal with the situation. Why upset the children? What really could he have done to stop the attacks? Nothing! People who dislike a person or politician will find fault anywhere, even when another in their position would have done similar in the same circumstances.

It's not that he continued to read, it's that he sat there like a complete dunce looking confused for an incredibly long time after he knew (or should have known) that the country was under attack. You'd have expected a "commander in chief" to have acted more . . . well . . commanding.

lets see here. should he continue reading to the children so they dont get upset...
or should he get on the phone with his security council, become informed of what is happening, make sure it isnt a nuclear attack (remember, he didnt know what kind of attack it was...for all he knew it could have been a nuclear attack), start preparing a response to the attack, address a nation who is very concerned about what is happening...
sounds like a no brainer to me.

exactly. what could he have done, anyway? he was safe where he was, and there was no point in him running and jumping in a plane just so they could fly him to an "undisclosed location." the children would have been very upset.
actually i read in an interview, around 9-11-06, with some of those kids he was reading to when it happened. one boy said that he'd never forget it, and that he could tell it was bad news, cause Bush's face started turning really, really red. (i wonder if he was mad, or upset?)

If he had immediately jumped up and ran out, he would have been fried for traumatizing the children. It doesn't matter what he does or did, the liberals and the liberal media will nail him to a cross. You simply cannot reason with people who run around with their hands over their ears singing la la la...

He just looked like a ******* idiot. and by the look on his psychotic face, I could just tell- he had to blame someone- everyone but himself. How he must have been thinking: "What A stupid ************ I am for not taking the Cia seriously, or how I'm an evil genius that my presidency is secured for next term as well."
