"Earth revolve around the sun" = what we call a "year." That said, the whole point of leap years is that it actually takes 365.24 days. This whole system is slowing down. It used to be in sync, but, you know how lazy people can be. The earth just isn't peddling fast enough.
Despite space being a vacuum, there is still some drag on the earth from gravity. Some wag published a few days ago an article on the earth's future (in about 5 billion years), which is eventually slowing in its orbit, not to standstill, but to a tidal lock with the moon so that the moon no longer revolves around the earth but is locked in one position in its orbit.
Short answer: slowing even more.
