i completely agree...everyone always tells me..why are you putting on make up? your only going to....somewhere..why does it matter? i believe make up is amazing..it makes you feel good about yourself..i'm not saying where a lot of it alll the time..but even if your not going anywhere important..make up makes you feel good and when you feel good about yourself..your in a better mood and why would you choose to do that to yourself? just where it if you want and leave people alone if your one of the people saying "you don't need it" because yeah you don't need it but its nice and there's no reason for not wearing so just go ahead and do it.

I'm not sure what your question is, but I see the beauty scale as like this:

1. The natural beauty who needs no make-up, and wears none. Look at the Amish girls and their clear, clean skin.

2. The professional model who has learned how to apply makeup artfully so that it really does enhance her assets and disguise her flaws. The actress who has it professionally applied by a makeup artist would be in the same category.

3. The girl who wears makeup every day, and has learned to apply it nearly as well as the professional model.

4. The girl who wears no makeup at all, even though she's no natural beauty.

5. The girl who wears makeup carelessly or bizarrely applied. The classic in this is the girl called "Hatchet Face" in the movie "Cry Baby." She has a reasonably nice face, but it's late in the film before you look close enough to see that she does. She applies her makeup in an intentionally bizarre way, and she eventually stands in front of a judge who asks her what happened to her, thinking she had some injury. She gets up close to the judge (and to the camera) and says, "There's nothing wrong with my face. I have character." And you can see that, beneath the lipstick that has a totally different shape from her mouth, the eye makeup I can't even begin to describe, and the pasty pallor of pancake makeup (this is the 1950s), she really has a pretty good face.

Somewhere around 2.5 or 3.5 on the above list would be the professional drag queen who can convince you he's female. Number six on the list would be what my San Francisco friends call "scag drag."
