You don't really stop a song. You just press the pause button. If you really wanna stop the song, I guess you can go to games, and click "Music Test" and go back out. That clears your list and works well.
It doesn't waste your battery to pause a song. Hold the pause button to turn it off, and you'll be fine.

I don't actually OWN an iPod, but one of my friends let me use theirs. There is not a stop button, so you have to press pause to stop a song. (It should be the button on the bottom of the click-wheel.)

pretty much to stop a song is to either turn it off or click the pause button.

to stop a song you can go to the menu and choose another and it will stop or you can hold the play/pause button in untill it turns of

There is no way to stop the song. You can pause it. It will not kill any battery though.
