Follow the fuel rail. It's typically at the end of the fuel rail.

Make sure your relieve the pressure in the fuel rail first. Easiest way is to pull the fuse to the fuel pump and run the car until it dies.

FYI: If you are getting low fuel pressure, typically it's a clogged fuel filter rather than a bad fuel pressure regulator.

A 4 cylinder may run a long time before the pressure goes down enough to kill the engine.You may have pulled the wrong fuse. Listen near the tank to hear if the pump is running when you turn the key. Might need a helper here. There is a fuel pump kill switch that activates in an accident. It may be in the trunk. Look in the owner's manual if you have one. Hit it with your hand and the reset button will pop up, shutting off the fuel pump. Press the reset after you are done.

Also, thank god you don't have to change the water pump.
