This is the car's means of telling you that he Supplemental Restraint System is inoperative.
It is an indication that if a collision, the air bag will not deploy.
The cheapest place to take the car is to a good body shop for diagnostics and repair.
Diagnostics you should expect to pay for about an hour's worth of shop time. Repairs will be based on their findings. The air bag module will be somewhere around $300.00 to $500.00 and sensors can be anywhere from $50.00 to $150.00. Repairs could be anywhere from 1 to 3 hours.
I recommend you take the car back to the dealer or the lot you bought it from, as this is a federally required safety device, and like seat-belts are required to be in working order at the time of sale.
Happy Motoring

If it keeps blinking after you've turned the engine on, yes it is serious. The airbag system may be defective, and might not deploy in the event of a crash. It could cost you your life.
I believe the life expectancy of airbags is ten years, after which you should get it changed. I don't know the cost, but am guessing it will be very expensive, as this would be a specialist job.

Before you spend any money, make sure your airbags are turned on. Key switch is usually on dash & works with ignition key to turn it on and off

You need to check codes - it's likely one of the G-sensors. No biggie but annoying. BTW, why would someone do that? I mean buy a ford?!?

Let a dealer diagnose it. It could be serious.
