ok, first, it is not about cheating. from different interviews with austin, his ex girlfriend calls late at night, wondering if she made a mistake breaking up with him. he still cares for her even though he is with a new girl and yes, sometimes he wishes he was still with her. but listen to that word BUT in the song. he isn't going to get back with his ex. yes, he misses her, yes he loves her, but he isn't going to get with her cause he cares about his new girl too.

Well, I know that Tim McGraw or some other country singer person either did it first, or redid what Hinder did, because I heard it sung on a country radio station. But the meaning to me is Guy A and Girl A were together, and then broke up. So Girl A and Guy B get together and Guy A and Girl B get together. But Girl A still relies on Guy A for guidance, and isn't too happy with her boyfriend. That's how I always interpreted it...

Very easy... just listen to the words! His ex-girlfriend calls him late at night, his current girlfriend is in the next room. Obviously by the lyrics, he and his ex-girlfriend aren't completely "over" each other yet because he says things like "we never really moved on" and "sometimes I wish she was you" when talking to the ex-girlfriend. He's still in love with his ex-girlfriend.

This guy's with some girl currently, but his ex calls him crying and telling him she misses him, and he misses her too. He wishes his girlfriend now was like his ex sometimes. But he doesn't want to break up with his current girlfriend.

Well, it really happened to the lead singer. It is about a relationship issue, and so they decided to write a song about it.

I think its this guy and girl were together but split and got together with different people, but then they find they still like each other. So basically they are cheating. Thats what I got from the song.
