I'm 16, I've never taken any creative writing classes and I was just wondering if anyone here could give me some pointers on making my writing stronger.

Thanks so much! :D

I personally suggest "Drinking Starlight in the Rain" as it is my favourite piece of work and the one I am most proud of. Thank you :).

Reading your deviantart page, it's clear you're already on your way to greatness.

One thing that young writers-- especially young poets-- often neglect is reading. That's a really important part of developing a voice. (Think about it: babies don't learn to speak unless they have been around people speaking.) Take some enrichment classes in creative writing if you &/or your parents can afford it.

I recommend the books Poemcrazy by Susan Wooldridge and Getting the Knack by Dunning & Stafford.

I also recommend going to some open mic readings. Dress up, decorate yourself, become the poem. Be vulnerable in front of a crowd. It may be the single most empowering experience you can give yourself.

You're the first identifiable teen-ager I've seen use good grammar, correct spelling, and sentence structure. You're well on your way. Talk to your English teacher for advice and maybe some practice exercises. Write, write, write.

I agree with the above poster who said Write write write. I read one of your poems and really enojoyed it. You are off to a good start and should keep it up. Be critical of your own writing and enjoy developing this talent.
The one I read was called Erotica and it was alarmingly hot, bravo.
