If it is Reggie White, do you have a source for that?

Yes, as said, it is counted for a tackle and sack.

It IS odd that the tackle isn't official as it is one of the basic concepts/moves in the game. The sack wasn't called a sack until big-bad Deacon Jones (who is, to most, the unofficial sack leader --as he said "I know how many sacks I had! I got paid by the sack, I better know!" --- with a little over 200 (though I saw a site that said they had watched film and read documents and it was a 3rd place 176) and suppposedly racked up 26 in a 14 game season (better than Reggie White's 21 in 12 games) ) but still became official eventually.
