Most problems can be fixed with a manual reset.
Hold down the middle button and the menu button together for about 6 seconds. The apple logo should show. That should fix it.

Don't know why, but I experience it too. In fact, certain albums appear prone to it, and the same albums will jump on my partner's ipod also (though the album is derived from the same source so it's something wrong with the mp3 file(s) or the rip process, rather than the album itself, I think). It's a mystery (well, to me it is).

try reseting it by holding the middle button and the play button simultaneously. if that doesnt work call apple and ask. is it still under warranty? you could ask apple to replace it if it's really that faylty

Yeah I'd do what the others said, reset.

Go to this link from Apple to tell you how...
