Does anyone know if a turbocharger off of a 1 ton late model American truck will work on a domestic v8? Will it be able to keep the turbo spooled up, will it work in the 1500 to 6000 rpm range or is it designed for the diesel's rpm band? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you all!!!!!!!!!!

The Cummins turbo used by Dodge works great on small V-8 engines when set up proper. It's big so it must be done right. Look at TurboFords website. Guy use it for everything from 4-cyls to big-blocks. And it's cheap and plentiful.

If you can plumb it, it will work.
It must have exhaust to spin the turbine, and the compressor must be able to discharge into the intake (or the carburetor if it isn't fuel injected).
RPM range of the engine is not of concern.
However, it MAY be less expensive to purchase a turbo kit for the vehicle you are trying to modify than to have to modify and fabricate all the necessary parts from turbo not fitted for the application.
