None - what they lost in phone box calls they have more than made up with inflated costs to call a mobile from a landline !!!!!!!

Do you mean Bell Telephone? The old Ma Bell was broken up (by the government) more than 10 years ago. The telephone boxes are now owned by many companies and no central statistics as to the amount of usage exists.

Good question. BT will just get their losses back by charging us more for other services.
I will be interested in knowing who is paying to keep the phone box network going an d how much its costing.

True - can you even remember the last time you used a phone box?
BT make it up elsewhere by charging extortionate rates for line rental - they own the underground lines, so even if you choose to use another supplier, you still end up paying indirectly for the line rental. They certainly do not spend money on training call centre staff - don't get me started...

The phone bills have gone up to cover any loss the charge enough just for their line rental apart from the calls

They have probably lost a fair amount, but then again they have entered into other markets. Like you said mobile phone market, and also the internet market.
