and someone answers with verifiable facts, the asker and other answerers just keep talking and ignores the answer if it doesn't fit their pre-conceived notion? i see this happening all the time. why ask questions if you're not really interested in the answers?

Tink: i know lots of it is opinion, but i mean, like if you cite historical facts to back up your argument, they'll ignore you totally. i should have made that clearer.

I believe you will find that the worst cases tend to involve the same people, they act as a group. Some of them are puppets.
Generally from the lower strata of the moron stockpile.

I agree with tink. but i also see that people ask for the opinions of opposing parties and then when they don't like the answers they pick someone who is very stereotypical in their answers just as they were in their questions. they ask for the differing opinion, but then can't handle it. then there are those who just post questions to get others all stirred up. it takes all kinds.
Edit: honestly. I feel that close minded people.(and they are on all sides of the arguement.) will not accept any opinions different from their own. i always say i think "a true sign of ingorance is the inability to see that there is more than one view on every subject." In other words when you present your facts and they can not say "hey that makes sense, i can see why you would think that." I mean they don't have to agree. just see that there is another side. when people can not do this, they are ignorant and close minded. and this is sad.

Two reasons, it starts with loaded questions, where the ask-er is setting a stage for supporting statements!
Second Conservatives are "Conservative"
While Libs are anything but "Liberal"-They are even more Conservative about their "Socialist, loony left ways"
Occasionally, we get an honest question and a decent selection of views, but it is rare!

i'm new here,but i have noticed people only like the answers that agree with their opinion. facts are irrelevant. i even noticed people will report you for having a different opinion. even if you aren't rude or insulting. i think this is a gathering place for some close minded people.
