It changes cotninuously and dramatically. You'd need to specify an exact date and time and refer it to an astronomer for calculation.

Jupiter has mean distance of 778 million kilometers from the SUN.

The Earth has a mean distance of 150 million kilometers from the SUN.

The distance between Jupiter and the Earth depends whether they happen to be on the same side of the Sun or not. At their closest, you subtract the Earth's distance from Jupiter's distance to get about 628 million kilometers away. At their furthest, you add the two distances together to get about 928 million kilometers.

Go to Ask John Harper at www.cyberwitch.com/
wychwood/observatory
In 2006 the distance was 4.97825AU (astronomical. Unites) +744,736,190KM
This changes from year to year. Some years Jupiter is closer to Earth.

Jupiter is on average 5.2 AU from the *Sun*. The Earth is on average 1 AU away from the Sun.

So around 4.2 AU to 6.2 AU is typical.

Both orbits however are not circular, or even elliptical, but constantly changing.

Therefore 3.949 to 6.456 AU, probably slightly extremer if you search the last few centuries a little more thoroughly than I did.

365 million to 600 million miles, in nice round miles.
