Since the NFL merger, in 1970, what running back has the most rushing yards in one NFC championship game?

Also, who holds the all-time record for the NFC championship game?

Hints:
-Both played for the same franchise.
-Also, the more recent player's team ended up losing in the Super Bowl.
-It was NOT Emmitt Smith, Payton, or Davis.

DuhBearsssss is correct. Both played for the Eagles. Van Buren's team went on to win the NFL Championship while Montgomery's team lost in the Super Bowl to the Oakland Raiders.

Unknown fact: Both events happened on the same date, just different years.

Colts When they were in Baltimroe they were a member of the NFC In Indianapolis they are now an AFC Team. The seahwks were in the AFC, but never went to the AFC championship game. The Colts as a NFC team made the Super Bowl twice, thus being in the NFC game, not including championshgips games between NFL and AFL merger The Seahawks never made AFC championship game as an AFC team. The Seahwks made the play-offs but in the Divisionol Playoff game they were deafeated by the Dolphins 31-10. Sorry it's the Colts. Sgold the NFC and AFC were created in the 60's. The Colts moved in the 80's. It's the Colts the Seahawks never made the AFC championship game.

Steve Van Buren with 196 is all time.

Emmit Smith is post-merger. (which is a lot harder to find)
