When teens write in (or pre-teens) begging for the rest of us to do their homework for them as in (I have a final tomorrow and I need to know answers to the following quesitons), why is it they become totally beligerant and report for violations when I (or anyone else) tells them they will have to Google, Yahoo, or simply find the answers elsewhere (such as in their schoolbooks!)? This is annoying. This site is NOT for the purose of giving someone the synopsis to a book they were supposed to read but failed to, or the answers to history questions that are readily available on the Web, or the answers to their entire mathematics quiz. If these lazy kids can use Yahoo and ask the question, then they can certainly navigate the Web and find out the answer! This idea that they report you when you tell them this is ridiculous! It's is as if they are pitching the tantrum of all time when anothe rposter will not actually DO their homework for them so they can go watch television or party.

Hey, kids, you don't have to be so SENSITIVE. One poster (a teen, of course) has lambasted me for categorizing all teens as lazy. Dear, learn to READ. That is NOT what this POST is about! And no one has singled you out as you apparently seem to feel. This isn't about helping someone with one or two words (as an offended party stated), it's about the LAZY TEENS who want someone to BAIL them out and do their homework for them! Before you answer this question, LEARN to decipher what it REALLY says. To the little poster who is utterly miffed that I have called her "lazy," dear, you need to realize this was not a personal assault on YOU! Sheesh!

Dear, learn to READ, will you please, and while doing so, try and comprehend what is REALLY being stated, and don't try and make it into something else entirely. xxxcowsgom, no one has singled you out as you apparently seem to feel. Before you answer this question, LEARN to decipher what it REALLY says. To those who are utterly miffed that I have called teens "lazy," you need to realize this was not a personal assault on YOU! It's a statement in fact about some lazy teens (there seem to be a lot here) and others who are suffering from terminal laziness, non-motivation, and a syndrome wherein they try and get others to do ALL THEIR WORK FOR THEM! Sheesh!

Hear, hear! I have called a few kids on it on here also. I have two boys and have never done their homework for them. If they're stuck, I will try to get them going again without actually giving them the answer, and I will read their papers for them and suggest changes.

All I can think about this problem you're describing is that someone somewhere must have been able to get their homework done on here and passed the word around, and I bet it's still going on, otherwise kids wouldn't still be trying it. I think it's unfortunately caused by parents not spending enough time with their kids, keeping up on their kids' homework, and getting involved. It's sad but that seems to be the way many families are these days.

i'm sorry that you have this view on all teenagers
the most i have done (homework wise) is asked for definitions of like, two words
i do my own homework and i get good grades and i do not appreciate you categorizing all teenagers based on what you notice on the internet, because, obviously, it's only going to be the lazy ones asking for homework help.

just keep giving them the answer. when they start failing their tests/quizes because they dont know how to do problems/answer the questions then maybe they'll figure out how to do their homework themselves. let them fail. that will teach them

they are going through a phase...just give them some time. they will soon realize that they will need to find the answer them self.
