to me it's just a bunch perverted words thrown together in a song. Not even reallly music.......why do most people like rap when there are so many good songs? escpecially guys?

because it's all over the radio!!
everytime a turn the radio on, every station has rap or hip hop on.
then i come to school, and i hear teens singing the same songs!!
i personally hate rap.i love rock.

All music is good, every genre of music has its good and bad. There are a lot of rap songs that fit into what you are saying and they are mostly mainstream. If you actually try and find something that clear channel has approved you'll find that rap and hip hop have a lot of deeper meanings. A few really good songs make it past clear channels normal plain and dull songs like some greenday and Nas. Just open your ears and listed to the words of all kinds of music, there is normal a history and story behind it.... or sometimes is just a rump shaker

Because Rap is an art form. Unfortunately there are many close minded people who choose not to take it for what is. Granted, some of it can be a little vulgar & i simply dont listen to it. But SOMEONE out there can relate & gets something it, so that's all that matters.

Same reason country music is popular. The majority of the population happens to like mainstream music. I don't really get why either. I guess it's a matter of opinion...

What about heavy metal all that shouting and screaming at least you can tell what rappers say

I completely agree with you. It is senseless words, and not singing. It's just a simple beat, and talking fast. Most people like it because it just goes along with the whole constant degrading of society and culture.

It can be fun to dance, feel it in your heart, its not always gangsta terrible rap. It sounds rly interesting to me compared to most music. The beat and the lyrics and everything, and its not always stupid lyrics. I like Jay z
