I am 17 weeks pregnant and my mother in law has just found out she has cancer in her throat and has to have radiotherapy. I am due for my 20 week scan in 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone knows if it will be dangerous for her to come with me, as i thought it might cheer her up a bit, or if i am even allowed to be in contact with her while she is going for the radiotherapy, while i am pregnant as i don't know if it will be any danger to my baby?

My heartfelt sympathy for the bad news. However, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. There is no residual radiation in a person treated with radiotherapy and she poses no harzard to either you or the baby. Hope it all goes well for all of you.

No! not at all, the radiation your mother in law receives is a very low narrow beam aimed at the throat. So cheer her up and let her go with you. Congratulations on your pregnancy, mum! I hope you have a lovely baby.

Your mother-in-law having radiotherapy will have no effect on you or your baby whatsoever.

Does she have radiotopes implanted in her body? If so, then you shouldn't be around her. If she is just having radiation done, then you should be OK.
