We just found out that we're expecting baby #2 in August, and although we're excited (our son is 16 months right now), the morning sickness is taking over my life!

When I get up I feel fine, and I usually feel fine until I finish breakfast. Then from that point to the time I go to bed, I am in a state of constant nausea. I can't even eat! Close to 7:00 I'll start dry heaving like crazy until about 8:30.

ANY suggestions would be great, except I'm anti-pop.

Nasty does not come close to describing it! I found some foods that helped settle me, also I got up in the middle of the night and ate, this helped me. Sometimes water or crackers before you get out of bed.

For me it was liters of water, yogurt, banana's and clemetines that did the trick the best. Oh yes, and i plugged my nose up, the SLIGHTEST smell made me want to slip into a coma until it was over.

GOOD LUCK! Seriously!

I'm so sorry you're feeling lousy! Check around and see if there are some new smells in your house or around you during the day. Smells would really set me off, particularly colognes and coffee.

Talk to your doctor about breakfast and your prenatal vitamins. It could be that the vitamins are part of the problem. If I took my vitamins on an empty stomach or with a small breakfast, I'd have an upset stomach all day.

Try keeping some soda crackers (saltines or oyster crackers) or some arrowroot cookies with you. Saltines are alkaline and can help sooth an acid stomach, and arrowroot has calming properties. Camomile tea is also good for soothing an angry stomach.

I hope you feel better. Good luck, and congratulations--

Oh yes it's a nasty thing but part of the deal. I remember and I feel for you. I use to keep saltine crackers by my bed side. In the morning before getting out of bed I'd eat a few. That helped me. Give it a try. I know you don't want to take pills but your doc can perscribe something safe if the crackers don't give you any relief. Congrats!!!!!

I swear by queasy pops. I bought mine at a baby boutique near my house. They worked so well I use them now for the kids when they get sick!
I had 24 hour a day nausea and these worked great. They are ginger based and 100% natural.
I also found that grapefruit/tangerine juice settled my stomach. Although it raised my blood sugar, so its a trade off.

If you go for a prescription, phenegren works great, but it made me so tired I couldn't take care of my older child.

Best Wishes to you!

Yes its' nasty! Try some ginger tea, or ginger snaps are good. Try rising very slowly. Try eating a very light breakfast at first and then increase your food from there. My doctor always told me to eat small mels thru out the day. Ginger is especially good for nausea. It will pass. I remember lying on the bathroom floor because I just couldn't get myself up from being so sick and weak.

They say ginger, what work for me is saladas or saltines beside my bed if I wake up I eat a few, then go back to sleep, then once I have to get up I eat another few
It's terrible. I was hospitalised for it. You also have to be very careful, as if you are vomiting too much your potassium and sodium levels will drop to dangerous levels which can be fatal for your baby if not treated immediately. I vomited 15 times in one day, and my levels went to pretty much non existant keeping me in hospital a cople of days, it was terrible.

All I can say if it gets to the point where you can't eat and your dehidrated, go straight to your doctor, he will give you some tablets or injection of pyridoxine which is in Diclectin a type of antihystamine proven to be safe if taken during pregnancy to stop vomiting. they will also get you to eat loads of bananas, tomatos fruit and veggies with potassium, gatorade is also great as it contains the two minerals which you need, and will also hydrate you... Don't let yoruself get dehydrated, I almost lost my baby because I didn't go get help earlier...

Lemonade sometimes helps me aswell, and if you are in a car and feeling sick try having a slice of lemon to suck on, sounds strange but it works for loads of people

Best of luck

Apples and oranges always stayed down for me. Just eat slowly and don't drink beverages while eating. My doc told me to wait a half hour to drink after eating and that helped. Try to avoid eating anything you love at this point in time..you may hate it later on if you get sick on it. My breakfast was a couple handfuls of rice chex cereal for the first 4 months and that stayed down well too. Crackers didn't help me at all.

Congratulation on your new bundle of joy.You should try saltine crackers and ginger ale or dry toast to help the nausea. Try not to eat greasy food because that can make you feel nausea. Your doctor should be able to prescribe something for that.
