There are devices in automatic transmissions called accumulators. The transmission will fill these accumulators with fluid during certain operating conditions.
They absorb some impact via a piston and spring mechanism when filled with fluid (under pressure). It could be possible that one of the accumulator pistons has become stuck inside its bore, or that the spring has broken and will no longer absorb the impact of fluid pressure.

Unfortunately, the transmission would probably need to be removed and dis-assembled to find this problem.

Don't bother with a trani oil change, you probably need a new transmission. The friction plates in between gears are going. The plates themselves are real cheap, but it requires a full removal and rebuild.

Since looking at the fluid is free, check your fluid when the car is warm. If it's low, is brown (as opposed to red, when it is new), or smells burnt, you should get the fluid change and say a small prayer.

For one take it to at least 3 transmission shops, it could be something small. DONT take it to AUTO-ZONE and have them plug in the OBDll unless your engine light in on. You could be low on fluid and when a filter gets dirty, some transmissions tend to act up. When it comes to transmissions theres not much you can do but have a few transmission shops take a look at it. Stick with the bigger companies, they have better insurance on there trannies. If they screw you its easier to sue them if they dont make it right. PAST EXPERIENCE!!

This applies to automatic transmission only.!

Hi dude
U don't need to change ur car if u wish to ......
1.Try pressing clutch fullly and when switched off change gears
to all gears randomly so that there is a free movement created in between them
2.Try to check ur clutch shoe wheter it is working properly
3.Try the connection with clutch and gear box
4.Gear box is ok and not so hard
If the problem exists in gear box u will need to change ur vehicle
Try for a full service and mention gear shift problem
U have not mentioned wheter it is manual or automatic dude
anyhow my things were common
if for automatic don't try any things coz the vehicle would get spoilt.

my only advice is to get the fluid and filter changed and see if it acts normal again and you can also add a bottle of Lucas transmission fix while you are getting the fluid changed, I have seen this stuff work wonders on transmissions by freeing up sticky valves in it and saving your transmission.

souns like a valve body problem , but it could be alot of different things, some require a trans rebuild some do not, to find out for sure it needs to go to a reputable shop/ dealer and get checked out, cost $ 100-$3000 depending on whats really causing the problem; it could be mechanicle or electrical

go to auto zone and ask them to connect the OBDll scanner .

write the codes they will tell You.
let us know with a new question.
at least, if I don't solve it You will know the parts and labor prices.

by what You saying may be the throtle position sensor. and is not in the transmission.
