There are websites which list the prices of all the houses sold in the UK. Just do a google search for the road (in quotes to get the exact phrase match) and possible the number anfd theres a good chance it will come up.
If it was recent it may take a while to go up on a site and get indexed.

Click onto property in your yahoo browser and scroll down, on the right hand side you can find out about sold houses by giving the postcode and road.

I know they had an article on www.moneysavingexpert.com about 1 of these sites to check on all houses that sold from year 2000 so maybe you can find it along with lots of other interesting things

the land registry will tell you for a £3 fee, it will tell you the name of the owners and the price it was bought for.
