can someone please tell me in a nutshell what happens in harry potter and the half blood prince?

i have bought the book and i have tried reading it many times but i never get around to finishing it or i get bored i dunno but i wannt know the main events of the story

Its kinda hard to explain in a nut shell...you really should read the book but here are a few highlights

--Dumbledore gives Harry a history of Voldemort
---We discover Voldy cant die because he made these evil things called horocruxes taht must be destroyed before youcan kill him
---Ron Dates Lavender Brown to make Hermione Jealous
---There is a mysterious potions book that is really helpful that is the Half Blood Princes
---At the end of the book we find out Snape Was the Half Blood Prince
---Harry and Ginny start dating
---Dumbledore takes Harry to destroy a Horocrux
---Draco Malfoy becomes a deatheater and sneaks other death eaters into hogwarts.
---Draco is supposed to kill Dumbledore but he cant
---Snape kills dumbledore for Draco (conspiracy theories about this abound)
---There is a funeral
---It looks likeHermione and Ron will get together
---Harry breaks up wiht Ginny to keep her safe
---The trio decides to not go back to schoold to track down the other horocruxes and kill Voldy
---Bill and Fluer get engaged....als Bill is bitten by a warewolf but it looks like he wont turn into one he just has bad scars.

Thats most of the highlights but theres loads of other stuff in there that will be big clues for book 7 so you should really read it

I read it a whle ago, so in a nutshell, Dumbledore get's killed at the end by Snape. Which, I don't think is possible, he is a great wizard. Besides they are at Hogwarts one of the powerful places in all wizard land. And, Dumbledore is suppose to be a very powerful wizard.
