This is always a horrible grey area for legalities, because in a sense, there is a human life at risk. And that life should have the same opportunity as everyone else, to develop and enjoy the world around them.
Unfortunately as soon as the child is born, it all becomes another person's responsibility. These people seem to believe that they can fight for an embryo's 'right', but expose themselves by not lifting a finger of help when it comes to looking after the child and providing them with food, clothing and love. So much for everyone having the same opportunity! Of course it's someone else's fault, it's these sinful people, and they deserve it, obviously.
Forget 'pro-life' the correct term is 'compulsory pregnancy'. Certainly, you can suggest that these people are doing the wrong thing by aborting their child. But you cannot argue the fact that a woman's fetus is the property of her own, and to hell with anyone who wants to argue otherwise. And it fits in so snugly with outright sexism - kep women pregnant, at home, while the man works. That's no dig at conservatism, but it doesn't surprise me that it threatens some of them to think of women's rights.
Okay, it's the woman's fault if she gets banged up. Then it's her choice if she chooses abortion. No??! How can you suggest someone handle that responsibility, of having a child, if they're not ready, not capable, or if they don't want it? Why should someone else make such a life-changing decision for her? Why she listen to people who say what she is doing is 'barbaric' when the same people link arms and block medical centres! If it is the case that abortion is murder, then what of mercy killings, to prevent a tortured and pointless life that would be brought up in squalor. It may be a hard issue to deal with - it IS complicated - but the last thing people need is stupid shortcut thinking like 'abortionists are murderers'.
That baby is not a baby! You are killing something, sure - but it is not a human being! And it is not the same! But that isn't the point at all really is it? The point behind all of it is to gather macho men and stupid women around the pro-male agenda. Keep women tied down in the kitchen, where they belong.
How is helping people? How is it granting freedom, happiness, compassion, liberty when someone is denied the choice to control THEIR lives from something which is not a living, breathing human child. How can these people declare themselves to be pro-life when they support the death penalty! Maybe it's because they are two policies which have lots in common - they are outdated, mostly discarded by the western world and have proven to not work at all!
There needs to be more education, more contracepton, more acceptance of the reality of abortion. Kids will have sex. This is life. And I think if you're against abortion, you're out of touch.
And I end on this... http://youtube.com/watch?v=AnUKh9I910g

We're obviously reading different poll results. Every poll I've seen, regardless of the source, shows a majority of Americans against the use of abortion as contraception. Now let's be honest here. You and I both know that abortions of this type comprise the overwhelming majority of cases. For every case of rape and incest you can find, there are hundreds of examples of "I don't want to have a baby".
In my opinion, this is certainly murder, and I would have no problem prosecuting the ex-mothers-to-be accordingly.

Are you one of those people that hate abortion but support the war? Well look at it this way if we have 4 billion too many people on earth right now what and how long will the earth substain us? Try 50 years dumby. And there should be a limit worldwide on families 2 per family.

The overwhelming majority of Americans do not support abortion on demand as you have depicted. As per the DNC playbook you have tried to align the position of the far left with mainstream America's views on the issue. Your assertions are false.
Abortion should never have been an issue decided by the Supreme Court. The states were and are capable of deciding it on there own. Judge made law has no place in America.
I am sure that some hard core pro lifers want to prosecute women who have abortions. They are on the fringe of society just as you are. The real shame is that 10's of millions of abortions as you have depicted is far from your pariah's position of "safe, RARE, and legal."
Many Americans have problems with the state of abortion in this country for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which is the lack of rights men have in the situation. Would you have liked it if Betty's mother decided to get rid of her without asking you?
You are out of touch.

Let me solve this question once and for all. Everybody gets two. Every woman is allowed two abortions, no questions asked. After the second one you're apparently too stupid or irresponsible so nobody wants you to reproduce anyway, so you'll be sterilized.
The exemption would be rape or incest.
I'm indifferent to the abortion laws since I can't get pregnant and I can't get anybody else pregnant (I took the necessary steps to fix that years ago). I think people should be responsible for their actions. Call me crazy.
I also understand people make mistakes or shows bad judgment, hence the "everybody gets two" thinking.

You stated for the record: "Becuase [sic] they know that the overwhelming majority of American women, and men, support abortion rights, and no one would ever stand for it."
Okay, so lets put it in referendums across the country instead of keeping it locked up in some un-elected judges hands.
Think abortion would pass the test everywhere?

So what are you saying? That nobody dies in an abortion, or that it's a socially acceptable death? I mean, if the fetus can't speak up for itself and nobody speaks up for it, its death is justified?
Right now, nobody gets prosecuted for abortions, yet you're still complaining about the people who oppose abortion exercising freedom of speech. What is it that you want, for people who don't support "choice" to just shut up? So, you're pro choice, but not pro free speech?? I'm confused!?!

movie stars make money because their names promote the initiatives in which they movie star. further no longer many stars have lengthy careers, they are round perhaps for 5 years, 10 on the exterior. CEOs often convey down the organizations for which they artwork and value various $$$$. the known CEO makes 500 cases what his workers make, that's a watch opener.

I cannot speak for every pro-lifer. But for me, the emphasis is NOT on the prospective mother. That is the focus of the pro-choice people. Why do you think that is?
The emphasis for me is on our societal values, because they affect all of us. And my child is growing up in this world. If we do not place a more serious value on human life, who will? 40 million aborted Americans says we need to have a social change.
