Ordinarily, if people are thinking and thinking about things they'd like not to be thinking about they can find something else to occupy their mind and stay focused on that. Sometimes the thought don't stay away completely, but as soon as they start to pop up a person needs to find something else to think about.
If a person has a problem with uncontrolled thoughts (and trying to end the thoughts does work) there is the chance a person could have ADHD or some other mental health condition, and only a doctor would be able to diagnose that and help.
Sometimes, too, if someone has thoughts about something and those thought cause the person to think of questions, all the person can do is keep rehashing until all the questions have been answered.
If someone is having thoughts they think are "completely out there" there is the chance those thoughts aren't as "out there" as they think. There is also the chance the person is going through a mental health condition. A person who is bothered by thoughts should talk with a psychologist to get a reading on how "out there" the thoughts really are and whether or not there is a mental health condition that person needs help with.

Well it was a little difficult to read your question but here is a go. You are having a problem with dwelling on things you have no control over and letting it bum you out totally. I used to have that problem but it has practically gone away. A little worry is normal. Worry that makes you unable to sleep or function properly is unhealthy. I was lucky because I was able to just change my whole life. I dropped all my crazy friends and made new friends and just took them at their word and expected them to take me at my word. I stopped playing games with people--I started to always try to speak the truth in a kind and gentle manner and tried hard to think of positive reasons for all the somewhat negative interactions I had during the day. For example, if the clerk at the library seemed to be giving me a mean look, I would smile and ask them how their day was going. This usually let me know that it wasn't all about me! What a relief! I also learned to follow God and lean on Him in troubled times.
The change has been amazing. My entire family is on all sorts of drugs and I'm not, but I am the one who has been able to stop the cycle of these really destructive thoughts. Don't get me wrong drugs really do have a place for treatment sometimes but nothing helps as much as surrounding yourself with good people, being good and trustworthy yourself, and learning to have faith.
Good Luck.

I f you have ever seeing the cover of a record of led zeppelin, where there is this triangle and then there is a rainbow, that crosses the triangle right in the middle?, the rainbow touches apparently the glass transparent glass wall of said triangle, and the direction of the straight line rainbow, breaks and it fells into the other side, changing form. try to Imaging that such a triangle is inside your head, the bottom, in straight line go from one ear to the other, and the tip steal is inside your skull., Tell me, can you see, how a rainbow can come true that glass wall, and fall, or project to the other side pure colors. In the same way you or your un-answer question, you may have. they can project answers and well more Questions. inside you own head you can perceived because your though begin from your ears, this is my conclusion for the symptoms you have explain that yet so many though in our heads and nothing, nothing in many instances make sense at all. Good luck friend, and made God bless you, in the name of Jesus, his Son Amen.

Modern science has revealed that the brain processes some 2 billion bits of information any given second. Yet at most we can only be consious of about 200 (at best and that is very very generous !!)
So as for the ideas popping in and out. That's normal.
As for the ideas that are unique, I would suggest to get yourself a composition pad and write them down & perhaps it will help you to focus. An additional outlet would be to also write the ideas in a format of poetry.
as for conclusions (solid answers perhaps another way to put it ? ) The best I feel we can do is to continue to explore and in our lives find comfort and a lifestyle that helps us realize the things we want.
I would encourage you to keep asking and searching, but if you are truly un-happy, look for a local mental health facility and talk to a professional.
hope things get better
