The health care plans that would be taxed would be the premium packages, the expensive plans. The middle classes and the poor would, according to the planlaid out, recieve tax credits for buying health insurance.
By the way, health insurance costs are currently deductible, so there really is no substative change being proffered. It is a kind of repackaging of what is already there, and calling it a reform that depends on "market forces" to increase competition and lower costs. It is another twist of the old Ron Reagan trickle down idea.. It is the same old G.O.P. idea of calling a tax hike a tax break.

If you will study Bushes plan you will find out that its actually an innovative, workable solution to a very complicated matter. Its purpose is to drive down health care costs, and when care is down so will the price of your insurance. Of course people will not listen to the facts, because knee jerk reactions sound better. In the end, taxes and all, you will pay less. I hope it passes, but I know it will not. On a bright note, many democrats have postulated plans similar to Bush's in the past, Maybe when he leaves office and they get the presidency they'll push for it as their plan, hopefully? Hillary's plan will get the government more involved in Health care and will drive up the cost, in the end you would pay more in taxes under Hillary's plan than Bushes. By the way people at the low end of the economic spectrum would actually get tax breaks under bushes plan, those on the high end will pay more. Interesting don't you think? The guy below me is an example of the knee jerk I'm talking about. The girl above me has absolutely no idea what she is talking about, she has never studied the plan, and by her answer proves her ignorance. Bushes plan will not cover everybody carte- blanc, but it will help hundreds of thousands of lower income people by driving down costs. If you want 100% coverage you have to go to socialized care, that will increases prices and reduces the quality of care.

a million. This set's into action a application the place each physique's scientific archives will finally be the valuables of the U. S. government, not in basic terms those interior the VA device and Medicare/Medicaid. 2. in case you pay taxes now, you would be paying extra to conceal all people who won't be able to arise with the money for Obama Care. people who pay no Fed Taxes now (it is totally almost 50% human beings) will on no account be predicted to start coughing up something for quotes. You and that i'm able to pay extra to pay their quotes for them. And no, there are actually not sufficient prosperous to try this. 3. With extra human beings seeing the comparable form of docs anticipate longer waits and much less time with the record. 4. As Fed Gov will tell docs what they're going to gets a commission for scientific care, anticipate much less time head to head with a physician (time is money) and anticipate much less diagnostic assessments for an ailment. as a replace of having 3 assessments ideal now to diagnose 3 conceivable reasons, you will get one...then await the outcomes...then get yet another....then await the outcomes...then get yet another....then await the outcomes. wish interior the intervening time your ailment does not worsen or turn deadly. right here in my State, many docs, extremely Obstetricians, won't even see Medicaid sufferers. The Fed Gov does not pay sufficient to conceal their time. What makes the situation even worse is a shortage of Obstetricians. (thank you John Edwards). 5. that's a central authority Plan that doesn't reform scientific care. it may not even grant a central authority (public) selection. So what precisely will it do? it is going to do 2 issues:Spend money and advance government rules. In who's worldwide has that ever grew to become out nicely?

Whatever his health plan is, it makes no sense to the people
who can't afford it in the first place.
If he thinks people can suddenly afford it, just to get a tax
break, he's living in some fantasy world.
I work in a hospital - I see people without insurance, come in
with a broken arm, leave having a heart attack after seeing
their bill.
He's really thrown out some numbers, but that doesn't help
the uninsured now, or the emergency rooms that have to
cover the costs.
It's evil.

You people need to make up your mind. You want the status quo tell us. You want socialized medicine it will cost you approx 30-40% more in taxes off the top or do you want tax employee health plans, Nothing is free in life. There is no magic money tree out back to fund all this stuff. The tax payers are going to pay, its just how bad they get hit is the question.

I think you misunderstood what he was saying. What he was proposing was tax CUTS for those with health insurance offered by their employers.
But I suppose you don't want to hear that, you just want people to agree with you that President Bush is evil. Yes, so evil, that he's trying to come up with a plan that DOESN'T involve raising taxes!

Yes, he definitely could. Everyone wants every citizen covered by health insurance but how to pay for it has never mentioned until this plan. The tax is levied by the amount of income you have & the tax monies are used for insuring the underpriviledged.
We must make a final decision - do we want the poor to have insurance or not?
Better plan - present it to your Congressman.

I don't really know much about this yet but it is no more evil than making me pay for the health care of illegals or people who just don't feel like working. I can opt out of employee health care.

Well, the Democrats want to raise minimum wage phenominally. Isn't that a little evil considering a lot of people will get laid off because employers can't afford to keep them on. This will also mean prices going up on everything. Just as usual, some idea struck up by the Democrats to drain more money out of our pockets. I'm glad this didn't pass. Besides, I'd love to see your link to this.

Here's mine.
