Having grew up in the Detroit area, yet still being objective. It would be the Detroit Pistons because of the Bad Boy toughness mentality and physicality including size and mussel, however much lost now including a much lower skilled team. I am a strong believer that physical defensive presence(C and PF), Penetrating play makers(PG and OG) and an overall rebounding average of 25+ from the starting five is by far the easiest way to win consistently in the NBA. The pistons had all three, and despite Bill Lambier being being perceived a brut, he never intended to really hurt any one, he just had a competitive physical mentality wish is vital to a championship team. Mahorn was more of a brut than Lambier. But they both understood that rough play, NOT dirty play was a key to a great basketball team.
I would not want to buy a west coast team, they are generally not big on a physical play, or a prolifically minded rebounding group. However if Shack and Malone was healthy, the Lakers would of filled all the main criteria pretty well as arguably the best all time team, no reason for playing the what if game.

Celtics : trade Pierce, Olowokandi, Ray,Telfair and/or a draft pick for Lebron James and Bibby. We need a GREAT guard and a very consistent point guard. Pierce is the leading turn over player in the celtics and is not the best guard out there. The rest of the trade players are good value for a team but we are quite stacked at those positions.
I wouldn't mind offering a solid 4 year contract to a center too.

I'd own the Super SOnics and do whatever I needed to do include throw the rest of the season (which wouldn't be too hard since they have the 5th worst record in the league) or trade any player (other than Ray Allen, Wilcox, or Lewis... and probably not Ridinour either... I'd probably sign someone to trade) to obtain the 1st overall draft pick and pick up Greg Oden. All they need is a big man they got everything else they need.

The Spurs. Either bench Bruce Bowen and start Finley or trade Bowen. Try to get Eddie Jone off waivers or another verstile foward that can defend. One more big man to help Timmy. Like Elton Brand Oh yeah Steve Francis is not happy in NY and get rid of Gregg P if he can't get his team to play harder and score a little more...he's the reason they lost last year along with Bruce Bowen.

prob. 76ers and train igoudala to be a great player like kobe or lebron, cuz he has the talent but hes still young. so if we did bad this year we would probably get a high draft pick so pick up a good rookie that can become a great player. then work with dalembert to be like shaq or yao cuz he has the talent to but i ono wtf he doin right now. i would also pick up sprewell from free agents cuz i ono y teams dont want him, he good as maggette or a lamar odom...alright so once i do that, i want them to be trained til ther asses soar like a bitchhh. u already got andre miller who is a good point. kyle korver is a crazy 3 point threat too. so if i can get them organized like wut i just said, 76ers would be good if they were just a bit more organized

I would go back in time and buy Dallas before they gave up Nash to free agency and then I would break Chicago's record for wins in a season.
