I've heard that Mother Goose's nursery rhymes are heavily criticized in our society, and they've sometimes been taken out of school libraries . I can imagine books with foul language or sexual content violating community standards, but how could Mother Goose's nursery rhymes possibly offend anybody ? Why does something so innocent attract so much criticism, or any criticism at all ? Thank you for your answers .

These "critics" have a hard time being heard because their opinions amount to so much whining, so they must pick on something that gets attention. They correctly predicted that "critiquing" Mother Goose rhymes would amaze, maybe even offend you. Your reaction is what they want, good or bad.

i do no longer think of - i could have enjoyed - nursery rhymes of this nature. real existence is macabre adequate. Why set the point for awful visions - whilst adulthood would be difficult. We ought to have our fairy thoughts - to ease the frightened tough ?
