lamar hunt.
he also formed the kansas city chiefs at first because the nfl wouldn't allow him an expansion team in kc. once he made the afc (his form of the nfl) and they started doing well, the nfl joined up with the afc to make them the afc east and west, hence having the first superbowl.... the nfl then allowed more expansion teams.

Lamar Hunt. A lifelong Denver fan but I have to admire Lamar Hunt (and Al Davis) for keeping the AFL alive back in the early days.

That was Lamar Hunt. The AFC Championship trophy bears his name. He just recently passed away.

lamar hunt - he's the only Chiefs owner they ever had until he died. the AFC championship trophy is also named after him.
