First of all, not all Republicans are against abortion, nor are all Democrats for it. The issue is sanctity of innocent human life, and it's more of a moral issue than a political one. As far as "all the unwanted children"- There are too many women and girls who use abortion as birth control. Perhaps if abortion were illegal, say for anyone under 18, maybe more girls would use their brains and be a lot more careful. Then, there wouldn't be so many "unwanted children".

Not all Republicans are against abortion. Not only that, but many of those who are against abortion are NOT Republicans.

Your sweeping generalization aside, many of those who are against abortion have adopted children, or are in the process of doing so.

I am a conservative and am personally against the practice, however I don't think the Government has the right to deny a woman the right to have an abortion. Just because I may not personally agree with it, I have no right to force my opinions and values on someone else. Plus it is easy to judge someone without having to walk a mile in their shoes.

Times Select Content Give Quayle Credit for Support of His Daughter's Decision; A Change Since '88

To the Editor: Dan Quayle's statement that he would reluctantly support his daughter if she became pregnant and decided to have an abortion (news article, July 24) is the more surprising contrasted with his position in the 1988 campaign. Mr. Quayle was being interviewed by three 11- to 13-year-old reporters for Children's Express, a television news magazine:

"Unwanted children" what a cursed and ugly thing to call a child. Don't you want him/her in this world. Or would you rather have him/her (child) dead? Your phrasing of this question shows where your heart really is?

The Churches should take care of them until they help people to see and we open our hearts and our lives.

Maybe you can ask all your Hollywood liberal friends to stop adopting oversea babies and start at home.
This is a major reason i am a Republican
Republican=Wants babies alive
Democrats=wants babies dead especially black ones.
40% of all abortions are of a black baby yet they only are about 12% of the population.

I know what you mean brother I freaking HATE republicans and you know the biggest reason somewhere along the line you and other people got the crazy idea that the only way you could value life was to be a republican its a shame everyone thinks they have a copyright on caring about kids The last aborted fetus cured aids and the one before that thought up a way to feed the world. if there isn't enough room or people to care for those unborn babies maybe all the people who can so easily and with out regard for human life, kill an innocent child, well maybe they would all volinteer to be kiiled so we could spend our energy on the kids who havent lived long enough to be as sick as you

Republicans are against abortion because:

-The baby is innocent
-The baby is denied life because of someone's irresponsible actions
-The baby can be put up for adoption

The "unwanted" children can be adopted. Thousands of couples want to adopt, but can't because so few children are put up for adoption.

Life is precious.

I'm against it because after my extensive research, I believe that it is murder. I believe the "fetus" becomes a child at conception.

And absolutely! I would love to be able to care for all the unwanted children!
Peace

It is very simple. Abortion is murder. If you don't want babies then there are a couple inventions called birth control and condoms.
