Hen.
Gen 1:21 And God created great sea-animals, and every living soul that creeps with which the waters swarmed after their kind; and every winged fowl after its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Are you a believer in Evolution or a believer in Creation?
Evolution would say the egg came first, because a hen would be born from a pre-chicken egg. So the parents weren't chickens, but they too were born from eggs.
Creation would say, "God made the chicken, not the egg."
If God had made the egg, it would've probably died, without a chicken to incubate it.
So decide whether you believe in Evolution or Creation, and the egg/hen delimma solves itself.

According to Professor John Brookfield, a specialist in evolutionary genetics at the University of Nottingham, the egg came first.
The egg came from an animal that wasn't a chicken but a non-chicken bird (a "proto-chicken" if you will). A genetic mutation in the chick growing in the egg meant that this was the first proper chicken. This came from the egg.

Eggs predate all chickens and all birds for that matter. The egg absolutely came first.
