25-35 lbs is average but less if you are overweight, more if you are underweight.

It depends on whether you are at the right weight or if you are under or overweight. It is said that if you are overweight you should only expect to gain from 15-20 lbs.. If you are normal weight when you get pregnant you should gain about 25-30 lbs and if you are underweight you should gain 30-35 lbs.

I gained the most with my first child (40 lbs) but my first was also over ten pounds...

Well I think there isnt a 'normal' weight gain.
I went from 52kgs to 72kgs, then lost it all.
Ive seen people lose weight for the first half of their pregnancy, then only put back just over what they lost. Ive seen a 5" woman put on 25kgs, then loose the lot and then there's those in the middle, who only put on 10-12 kgs. So dont feel bad if youre not in the middle, we're all different

I gained 25 pounds with my daughter. She weighed 8-1/2 pounds. If you don't gain a ton, it's easier to get back in shape.

Before I got prego I weighed 105. In my last month of pregnancy I weighed 160! I lost all my baby fat in 2 months after I delivered though. Just keep in mind that every woman and every pregnancy is not the same.
