If you are going to make an investment to help correct the problem, the best one to make would be to buy a USB Flash Drive. Even the cheapest of flash drives now a days say a 256 MB one, which would run you around 20 dollars or less holds 200 TIMES AS MUCH as a FLOPPY. So what I would suggest is buying one of those, and for this situation, use a computer that has a floppy drive in it, and use the USB flash drive on that computer to copy the floppy's contents to the flash drive, and from now on use the flash drive to store, and transfer data.

You can buy a External USB Floppy drive from any local computer retailer. They will run you about $20-$30 usually. Then you can use a floppy on your new computer. You can also transfer the information to a flash drive if you have a another computer with USB ports and a floppy drive (running Windows 98SE or higher) and then transfer it off the flash drive onto your new computer.

Floppy disks are pretty much obsolete. They have largely been replaced by network file transfer, CD-Rs and DVD-Rs, and USB memory sticks / "thumb drives". You can probably still get an external floppy drive, though. But if you only need it once, I would try to find someone who can burn it to CD for you, or buy a cheap thumb drive and go to a library or internet cafe where you can copy the floppy to the drive.

well firstly, you have to check on your computer to see weather there is a spare slot. if so, then you can purchase a floppy-disk drive and then install it. furthermore if you are not aware of where a spare slot may be , then you for extra information you can ring Dell and they shall give you further advice for your problem.
you can purchase a floppy-disk drive for about £20.00
