What do you think of the names...Angelique Gabriella (Girl) or Atreyu Manuel (Boy)?

I have actually never seen the Never Ending Story. The name came from the band, and then later I found out about the Indian boy in the Never Ending Story movie.

Atreyu is pronounced "A-tray-u"

I chose Manuel for the middle name, because it is my fiance's first name. He is a Jr. already so I don't want a Manuel the third.

Those are very unique! I prefer Atreyu to Angelique, though. My favorite name for a girl is Angelia.

Just remember that people will always have their own opinions on certain names.

My name is Brianna and it's been mispronounced all of my life. Sure, it's annoying, but I don't have mental problems over it.

Sure, people will give their negative opinions now, but once you have the child, no one would ever say "what kind of a name is that?!" You can't please everyone, and names are no exception. People always do get used to them, though!

If you like the names, go for it! It's refreshing to hear a unique name. A child with one of those names will never have to worry about the confusion of having someone with the same name in their class!

why has atreyu become so popular? Too many people watching the neverending story. Both are nice names. I prefer Gabriella over Angelique because I don't like how Angelique ends in a harsh sound. The boy's name flows pretty well, but he might find Atreyu a hard name to live with.

Angelique Gabriella is very pretty. I think it is cute and very sweet. Her nickname can be Angel :o) (I would have loved that nickname 9 years ago when I was 5 and I would still like the name at 14). Atreyu sounds nice but It looks like he would get it mispronounced. What about Manuel Atreyu or Trey/Troy Manuel.

The girl name is cute. Maybe Manuel Atreyu for the boy?

The girl's name sounds too overdone. Perhaps you could take off the A at the end of "Gabriella" to make it sound different. "Atreyu" just sounds made-up and silly, although Manuel is nice.

I like Gabriella for a first name and instead of Atreyu I like just Trey. That's just my opinion.
Good luck

I like Angelique, not Atreyu... sorry.
The problem will be that few of his teachers, or cub scout leaders will be able to pronounce it correctly.
I would recommend going with something a little more main stream so he doesn't feel "different"
Good luck!

I like Angelique Gabriella. But, Atreyu might be mispronounced all his life.

Oh, I really like the girls name. So pretty and feminine. Atreyu is a nice name for a boy too although he will be correcting the spelling and the pronouncing of his name all his life. but, alas, its really up to you! Good luck and congratulations!
